Acne
Acne is classified in 4 different grades. Essentially it is a blockage of the sebaceous gland with an inflammatory response. Acne can include comedones (blackheads), pustules, papules, cysts and scars.
Hormones can influence the amount of sebum which is produced by the sebaceous gland. P.acnes bacterium irritates the pilosebaceous unit causing inflammation.
A build up of keratinocytes can also cause blockages, blemishes and also roughness. This is something we can assist with and it is a delicate balance between addressing the congestion, treating the inflammation all whilst keeping the skin calm to not cause any scarring or pigmentation.
